Treatment

A boy is sitting at a computer drifting off to sleep. A shadow passes by his door, darkening the doorway. All of the sudden the door blasts open revealing a killer robot. The boy jumps high into the air, transforming into a superhero and then pounding the ground. The transformed boy and the robot have a stand off and then run towards each other. After a dramatic charge towards one another they both stop and the robot reaches to flick the boy’s ear. The boy wakes up from snoozing at his computer as his little sister is flicking his ear repeatedly.

This is frame 7 of my rotoscope. Just simple outlining and fill. Later I want to smudge the image to give it a more artistic style. It will look more like this:

GIF Assignment

For my GIF project I made four scans of a cigarette box. Originally I wanted to capture the entire box on the scan in order to make it look like a single cigarette was escaping. This was tough however because the box would move and the image would distort on each individual file.

I then decided to use close ups of the box, which worked much better. After scanning in my images, I assembled them in Adobe Photoshop and played around with the color balance and filters. This is what I came up with:
